WHO WE ARE:

For decades, research has focused almost exclusively on the challenges and impairments which students with ADHD often encounter. This narrative tends to magnify children’s limitations instead of celebrating their potential. We believe that every student has the potential to embrace their resilience. To do this, we must recognize the environmental opportunities and community influences that play a role in shaping a child’s resilience.

Resilience in Student Education, RISE for short, aims to do just that.

What we are here to do:

Our goal is to better understand what promotes resilience across the transition of adolescence (starting in 5th grade) and to work with schools, students, and families to develop future programming to support student well-being, school engagement, and academic functioning among students experiencing difficulties with concentrating and disorganization/missing assignments, and/or hyperactive/restless behaviors.
